Ashes!

with 5 comments

Like yesterday!

Like yesterday too!

By the misty pane, over the candle flick,
The moon, shy, glides into the clouds thick,
Red  eyes bore down on the parchment wet,
Dried  and  cringed  from tears and  sweat.

Toppled,  the  pot  of  ink  on  the  table  lay
Have had silently bowed to the winds’ say,
The quilt scribbling away words unspoken
Wishing to mend the strings broken.

Pages after pages the quilt bleeds,
As unto  sweet  longings  it recedes
Carving delicate reminiscence faint
Of chained reveries, a tad restraint.

The wobbling flame, signals the end
But, more! More has to be penned.
Signed reluctantly, sealed with a kiss
With the pledge of a tomorrow, bliss!

And like epistles written every night,
Held  tonight’s  too  to  the  flare  bright
Crumbling, vanished into the smoke, lorn,
Dreams wrecked like a baby stillborn.

To collect, unto the urn, ashes, dry,
Bottling nights and memories wry
For one day, will set the urn free
On its way to you, across the sea.

Have you ever had lots to tell,
Writhing to break loose the spell?
Have you kept the nights awake,
Of hearts, desire and longings ache?

Back again…

with 2 comments

I am back again. Got lost in some work over the past weekend and didn’t have time for a post. Being back on the blog-o-sphere feels so good. And the reverse writer’s block that I described earlier has mostly vanished, and I am trying to rub off the remaining roughness. I made a visit to NID(National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad) this weekend, and the experience was simply amazing. They were people just out of this world, each immersed in their own world of creativity, so warming yet so far away; a place where creativity takes its birth. Some of our greatest designers are from this famed institute, an institute which is well appreciated by both the corporate world as well as the greatest thinkers and innovators of our times.

The first entry into NID shook me. Just infront of the main entrance, Read the rest of this entry »

Faith Sells! – (Blog-a-ton 6)

with 38 comments

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 6; the sixth edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton.

The current post can be said to be a continuation of an earlier post of mine, namely, “Questions?” where I debated the existence of God, and the relationship between Mortals and God ( I prefer to keep both ‘M’ and ‘G’ in capital letters) pondering over why ‘God’ has ever come into existence. This post would revolve around some ‘faith’  facts that I had noticed over the years, and how ‘fear’ is being en-cashed to milk the common people out of their daily meager savings.

‘God’ has always been my favorite topic, and I have always tried to analyze what ‘God’ is and what it symbolizes. Though not many would agree with me, I would still like to believe that God is nothing but fear personified. How often have you heard the words “God is angry with me”? I have heard them quite a bit, and from there have sprung my questions Read the rest of this entry »

Questions?

with 3 comments

Man vs God – This has been one topic which has poked me all throughout. Questions have often engulfed me to the point of dizziness. Which of the two is a reality and which one is fantasy. “Who is God?” Or rather, “what is God?” – is it just a name or a symbol or a idol out of mud and clay? Is it the manifestation of inner power of human beings? Is it simply an object to boost courage during hardship and nothing else? God never seems so real. It’s an identity created out of the inherent weakness in man. It’s born out of the insecurities in and of man. Man has created God and not the contrary. And that’s what has given God so much power. It’s a lion in a pack of sheep. The lion does not exist if there is no sheep. We are but meek creatures given into all kinds of idolatry, without ever looking inwards. Look what strength we have. Look at Swamiji’s teachings.

You are lions; you are the soul, pure, infinite, and perfect. The might of the universe is within you. “Why weepest thou, my friend? There is neither birth nor death for thee. Why weepest thou? There is no disease or misery for thee. Thou art like the infinite sky: clouds of various colors come over it, play for a moment, then vanish; but the sky is ever the same eternal blue.
